Flew to Chicago over the weekend and a friend took me to a Xinjiang restaurant — as a meat lover, my taste buds were in heaven! New Haven has no Xinjiang food at all, so I’ve been missing it like crazy.👍💕 🌟 Highly recommend the dish at the bottom right — forgot the name, might be something like “sliced meat in sauce” (usually pork, but theirs is beef). That sauce on top is SO GOOD! Also the stir-fried beef noodles and baked buns — each bun is huge (the 4 pieces in the photo are actually 2 buns cut in half), stuffed with rich, flavorful meat — absolutely delicious 😭 The skewers and cold skin noodles were also amazing.
