Chicago🇺🇸|French-Style Peking Duck?
📍 Venteux After introducing Chicago’s Chinese-style Peking duck in the last post, it’s time to talk about Chicago’s French-style “Peking Duck”! The atmosphere here is lovely — perfect for a meal with your partner or friends, and great for morning photo ops too! 📸 Here’s what we ordered: 1️⃣ Whole Dry Aged Duck (French-style Peking duck) Recommended for 2+ people — the portion is generous! We initially thought it was just duck breast, but it came with thin crepes and three sauces — what tasted like a red wine reduction, yuzu jam, and Chinese hoisin sauce (our guesses! 😄). Also served with baked mushrooms and pickled radish. The duck breast was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Paired with cilantro to cut the richness — a fun, delicious twist on Peking duck! 🦆❤️ 2️⃣ Steak Tartare The buttery mini bread on the side was the star — crispy, fragrant, and perfect with the seasoned beef. So tasty! 3️⃣ Duck Liver Mousse Good but not mind-blowing. The bread here couldn’t compete with the tartare’s buttery rolls. 4️⃣ Dessert: GRAND MARNIER SOUFFLÉ Order this 30 minutes ahead! Texture-wise, it’s excellent — crispy outside, soft and warm inside. Surprisingly, it’s infused with foie gras — a unique (and bold!) flavor combo. Personally, it wasn’t for me, but many rave about it. A signature dish worth trying if you’re adventurous! 5️⃣ Dessert: CRÈME BRÛLÉE Not your typical version — this one includes lychee, adding a sweet-tart note that balances the richness. The caramelized top was perfectly torched. My favorite crème brûlée in Chicago so far! 🍮💖 Heard they also have great oysters — will try next time! For French dining, the price is fair — around $90 per person. Plus, the location on Michigan Avenue is super convenient! #FrenchCuisine #ChicagoMichelin #FrenchRestaurantChicago #StudyInUSA #StudentLife
