Chicago's #1 Soy Sauce Marinated Crab — Chicago Galbi House 🦀
Living in the suburbs means fewer food options than downtown — but at least I’m right next to Chicago’s best ganjang gejang (soy sauce crab). Small comfort, but a tasty one. 🦀 Soy Sauce Marinated Crab – They also have a spicy version, but I started with the original. Pic 1 shows the texture — no shell cracking needed. Bite gently and the jelly-like meat and roe slide right out. Mildly sweet and savory — my friend said it’s perfect over rice. Note: no takeout allowed — for safety reasons (liability if improperly stored). 🍄 Mushroom Hot Pot – Clear broth, but packed with various mushrooms that build a rich, earthy aroma as they cook. 🥩 BBQ Set – Much better meat quality than most city spots. We chose the beef set (both marinated and unmarinated). They also offer chicken/pork combos — pick your preference. 🍦 After the meal, the server auntie surprised us with free ube-vanilla twist soft serve — a sweet, perfect ending. With BBQ on one side, hot pot on the other, and a bite of crab jelly in between — now that’s living. 📍 Chicago Galbi House 340 W Half Day Rd, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 #SummerFoodieCat 🐱 #ChicagoLife #ExploreChicago #ChicagoEats #Chicago #HotPotAndBBQ
