Chicago's Hidden Gem for a Beautiful Meal | Maxwells Trading π
Maxwells Trading has been super popular lately, and I got the tip from both friends and @inChicago. I managed to snag the last weekend reservation a week in advance. This place is known for its fusion cuisine. Although my friend highly recommended the pasta, I went for the Asian dishes. We visited during Restaurant Week, so we chose the special menu and added a few Γ la carte items. π₯’ Appetizers didn't seem to have many exciting options. I went for the Beet & Pear salad, but it was pretty average and not really my cup of tea. π₯ Clay Pot Mushroom Rice π This was a total hit! The mushrooms were cooked to perfection, and I was absolutely delighted! The portion was hugeβmy dining partner and I were stuffed! π Heritage Pork Katsu π The pork was sliced thick but incredibly tender and delicious. We were already too full, so we took most of it home for later. π For dessert, I had the Basque Butter Cake. The crust was super crispy, and the inside was soft and moistβdefinitely a winner! π° Including two drinks and a tip, the per-person cost was around $80+. Considering we barely touched the appetizer and took one dish home, I'd say it was a great value for a beautiful meal! π° Overall, I'd definitely come back here a few more times. I heard the menu changes periodically, so I'm excited for my next visit! π PS: Since it's so popular, they have a strict seating schedule. If you're late, you might feel rushed. We were a bit late, but luckily, the bar area was available, and we could take our time there. π» #food #BeautifulMeals #AmbianceRestaurants #DiningOut #HiddenGems #ChicagoLife #ChicagoFood #ChicagoDining #RepeatVisits #Chicago
