Chicago's Only Michelin "Green" Star Restaurant
It has to be Daisies! ๐ This restaurant is quite famous among locals, and after trying it out, I have to say it's genuinely delicious ๐. I went for brunch and had a reservation, but it wasn't very crowdedโI think walk-ins would have been fine too. Here are a few dishes I loved: ๐Pastries Even though it's a restaurant, many people come to Daisies for the baked goods rather than a full meal, and some of the sweets sell out before noon. ๐Pesto Ramps Danish This pastry has a gentle herbal aroma. It looks and tastes like a flaky, soft croissant. Highly recommended! [Thumbs up] ๐Spring Onion Tart The caramelized onions are amazing! But after a few bites, it starts to feel a bit too salty. I thought it was a tad over-seasoned. ๐Brunch Menu Now, onto the main dishesโfirst of all, the portions here are quite small. Unless you have a very small appetite, one main course probably won't be enough to fill you up. ๐Salmon Gravalax The salmon is delicious! The potato cakes are great too! If you love raw fish, this is a must-try! [Heart eyes] ๐Papardelle These wide, belt-like noodles almost made me feel like I was in Xi'an, except for the tomato sauce. The pasta is chewy and bouncy, and the mushrooms are tasty. Another recommendation! [Smiling] ๐Scrambled Eggs Bruschetta This dish is perfect for those who love soft and runny eggs. I found it a bit too soft and lacking in texture for my taste. We also ordered potato chips with caviar and onion dip (super yummy) and the restaurant's homemade cola (Field Cola). Overall, I think Daisies does a great job of offering eco-friendly fine dining. It's definitely worth a visit. But because of the high prices, small portions, and lack of standout dishes, I probably won't be a regular. (Though I heard they change their menu every quarter...) #ChicagoDining #ChicagoFood #DiningOut #WesternCuisine #Daisies #ChicagoMichelin #MichelinRestaurant
