Chicago "Average Eats" Incomplete Record 🍽️

So many mid meals… here are a few that represent “average” in their own special way. 🍽️ La Serre 🐌 Escargots – Worse than Saizeriya 😒 🥩 Beef Tartare – Like the scrambled eggs & tomato of Western food — hard to mess up, yet they did. 🐟 The Caviar Nest – Just noodles & caviar. Half is fine, whole bowl is too rich. 🐚 Blackened Hokkaido Scallops – Four big scallops on a thin smear of pumpkin purée… had to lick the plate to finish it — embarrassing. 🦆 Crispy Duck Breast – Medium-well, couldn’t even bite through. 🍞 Brûléed French Toast – Just okay. 🍹 Non-alcoholic drink – Sweet and fruity. ⏱️ Service speed & attitude: 😒 Why it’s listed: The decor is stunningly luxurious, but not a single dish stood out — like putting cheap liquor in an '82 Lafite bottle 🍾🚫. 🍽️ Au Cheval 🍳 Foie Scrambled Eggs – Hard to go wrong with foie gras & eggs. 🍔 Cheeseburger (+ egg & bacon) – Single = two patties, double = three. Runny egg is great, bacon is unnecessary. “Best burger in America” is overhyped. ⏱️ Service speed & attitude: 😒 Why it’s listed: The noise level is deafeningly loud — my mouth might’ve been fed, but my ears paid the price 😵👂. #ChicagoEats #MidFoodDiary #LaSerre #AuCheval #FoodReview 🍔🔊
