Chicago | Bayan Ko Diner: Phenomenal Filipino Cuisine 🌟
We didn't make a reservation and ended up waiting for 45 minutes. The restaurant is pretty small with only a few tables, but the wait was absolutely worth it! Bayan Ko has both a diner and a tasting menu restaurant (which requires a reservation). We went to the diner, which is more casual. 🍔 The food is incredibly delicious! Here are some must-tries: 1️⃣ Adobo Wings The chicken wings are amazing—sweet and salty, and fried to a crispy perfection. 2️⃣ Lechon Kawali Crispy pork belly. Even though I usually avoid fatty meats, this dish was not greasy at all. The perfect balance of lean and fatty meat, served with a dipping sauce and their garlic rice, is out of this world! 3️⃣ Canton Noodles and Ginataang Gulay Both are vegan options. If you have to choose, go with the ginataang, which has a mild curry-like flavor. 4️⃣ Banana Split for Dessert! The banana split is a must! It comes with three flavors of ice cream and a fried sweet treat (I'm not sure what it is, but it goes perfectly with the ice cream). 🍌 This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to! Next time, I plan to bring my parents for their brunch. 🥧 #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #ChicagoTravel #HiddenGems #Food #ChicagoCuisine #Chicago #ExploreChicago #ChicagoFun
