Chicago | Bayan Ko Diner’s Filipino food is absolutely amazing! 😋
No reservation and waited 45 minutes — the restaurant is pretty small with limited seating, but it was totally worth the wait! Bayan Ko has both a diner and a tasting menu restaurant (reservation required). We went to the diner, which is more casual. Every dish was incredibly delicious! Must-try recommendations: 1️⃣ Adobo Wings The chicken wings are super tasty — savory and slightly sweet, perfectly crispy! 🍗 2️⃣ Lechon Kawali Crispy fried pork belly. I usually don’t like fatty meat, but this wasn’t greasy at all, with a perfect 50/50 balance of lean and fat. Dip it in sauce and pair it with their garlic rice — absolutely divine! 🥓🍚 3️⃣ Canton Noodles and Ginataang Gulay (both fully vegan) If I had to choose one, go for the Ginataang — it’s like a light coconut curry, so flavorful! 🥥🌿 4️⃣ Dessert: Don’t miss the Banana Split! Three flavors of ice cream served with a crispy fried pastry (not sure what it’s called, but it’s delicious with the ice cream!). 🍌🍦 Definitely a place I’ll visit again! Next time, I’m taking my parents to try their brunch! 👨👩👧👦✨ #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFood #ChicagoExplored #FilipinoFood #FoodieFavorite
