Chicago | Exquisite Japanese Cuisine at momotaro 🍣

It’s time for another beautiful meal! 🍽️✨ This Japanese restaurant in Chicago is not only stunning but also delicious. The place is quite spacious, with two floors and a bar in the basement where you can grab a drink while waiting. 🍸🕰️ For starters, we ordered the **octopus leg** and **chicken liver toast**—both were incredibly tasty. 🐙🍞 They also have a variety of **yakitori** (grilled skewers). We tried the beef tongue, chicken thigh, scallops, and chicken meatballs, and none of them disappointed. 🍢🔥 For the main course, you *must* try the **Chahan**, a stone pot rice dish with raw beef and egg. Let it cook a bit longer, and you’ll get a crispy bottom layer—it’s so fragrant that I could easily eat three bowls! 🍚🥚💥 However, their sushi and sashimi were just okay. 🍣 While visually stunning, the service was slow. We finished our hot dishes and waited quite a while before the raw fish arrived. 😅 We ordered the **Chef's Seasonal Nigiri Selection**, which is great for indecisive diners—it comes with nine different types of nigiri. The fish quality was good. 🐟✨ For sashimi, we tried salmon, sea urchin, and eel. The eel was the standout, and the **momomaki roll** (tuna outside, octopus inside) was also decent. 🍣🐙 Overall, the hot dishes were more impressive than the raw fish. If you’re debating, skip the sashimi and order more yakitori instead. 🍢🔥 The second floor offers a quieter and more refined atmosphere compared to the first floor. 🏮✨ 💰 The total for four people was around **$550**, so it’s not the most budget-friendly, but it’s definitely worth trying if you’re in Chicago. 💸📍 #ChicagoFood #Chicago #ChicagoJapaneseCuisine #FoodExploration #momotaro #ChicagoYakitori
