Chicago | Italian Restaurant Roundup šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹

Somehow this trip turned into an Italian food tour — but every spot was unique and tasty! šŸāœØ šŸ“ Volare Ristorante Italiano A popular Italian spot — got a same-day reservation. šŸ¦‘ Spicy fried calamari was a bit heavy. šŸ–¤ Squid ink pasta and tiramisu were the stars! Tried tiramisu at several places, but this was the best: two layers of ladyfingers, not overly soaked, nice coffee bitterness — perfectly balanced and delicious. šŸ“ Sofi Restaurant Easy to book, no disappointments. 🄟 First time trying ravioli — loved it! Creamy sauce clung well, pasta cooked just right. 🄘 Seafood risotto was also great. šŸ° Only downside: both desserts fell short. Tiramisu cream was too soft, cookies mushy, overly sweet without coffee bitterness. Cheesecake was crumbly and lacked cheese flavor. šŸ“ Eataly A cool Italian market-restaurant hybrid — half grocery, half dining. šŸ§€ Lots of Italian sauces, pasta, wine, etc. šŸ• Pizza was wood-fired, thin and crisp, paired with fresh burrata — light and fresh. šŸ Pastas had a firmer bite (al dente style). šŸØ Tiramisu was tasty but could use more layers. Gelato was yummy. šŸ® Another mousse with apricot sauce — flavors competed, so just okay. #TravelFoodDiary #ChicagoEats #ItalianFood #FoodieTravel šŸ„‚
