Chicago | Midnight Madness with Sauces Galore at Girl & The Goat 🌟
Visiting Chicago and skipping Girl & The Goat? You’ll definitely regret it! We arrived at the restaurant at 9 p.m. , and guess what? The place was completely packed ! 🎉 Girl & The Goat specializes in innovative fusion cuisine, drawing inspiration from Asian flavors, Mediterranean, and even South American influences. Each dish comes with its own unique sauce, and they’re all incredibly delicious and distinctive. 🥩 Here’s a quick rundown of what we ordered—feel free to order blind: - Everything Rye Focaccia : This black rye focaccia bread was served with roasted scallion cream cheese. The cheese was amazing—this was my first time having it with roasted onions, and it made me want to eat more bread! 🥪 - Wood-Fired Broccoli : Paired with a specially seasoned cheese sauce. 🍖 - Raw Oysters : Served with Italian pickled vinegar and yuzu soy sauce. 🦪 - Shrimp Salad : Featuring avocado, strawberries, quinoa crunch, pickled vegetables, and a tangy lime herb sauce. 🍤 - Wood-Fired Mussels : A must-try for seafood lovers! 🦪 - Pan-Roasted Halibut : Accompanied by Spanish almond miso sauce, scallions, and blueberry Vietnamese fish sauce. 🐟 The GOAT (goat meat) is a signature here, but unfortunately, I don’t eat lamb. 🐐 - Curry Fried Pork Belly : Thai-inspired crispy pork belly with a curry twist. 🍖 - Sticky Glazed Pork Shank : Served with pumpkin, spicy lemon crunch, Caribbean pickles, mustard aioli, and seafood sauce. 🐷 For dessert, even the three of us who were on a diet couldn’t resist indulging: - Put the Rum in the Coconut Cake : A moist cake with a rum flavor that’s salty-sweet perfection. Served with pineapple jam, mango, and pumpkin seed crunch. 🍃 - Miso Butterscotch Budino : A savory-sweet miso caramel cream pudding. Paired with dark chocolate, salty cracker crumbs, and a dollop of crème fraîche. 🍯 #FoodieVillageChallenge #ChicagoFusionCuisine #100RestaurantsChallenge #FoodQualityInspectionTeam #CreativeFusionDishes #ChicagoEats
