Chicago | Returning to Perilla Steakhouse 🥩

I previously tried their Korean-style brunch, and this time I was invited by the owner to experience their dinner menu! ✨ So excited to be back! The restaurant served a complimentary salmon tartare—cured salmon topped with smoked salmon roe. 🐟 A really interesting touch: the seaweed roll underneath was grilled, making the outside super crispy! The final dessert was a mango shaved ice, but it wasn't your traditional Korean bingsu—it was closer to a sorbet in texture. The top had a caramelized layer, and since the mango sorbet was slightly tangy, the combination worked surprisingly well! 🥭🍧 One of the best things about this place is that you can order their steakhouse sets, which let you try different steaks or cuts all at once! 🥩 Each set also comes with Korean side dishes, stir-fried glass noodles, salad, and one side of your choice (steamed egg, loaded fries, grilled short ribs, roasted mushrooms, roasted broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cheesy corn, or kimchi fried rice). I went with the cheesy corn and steamed egg—both arrived sizzling hot in stone pots! The cheesy corn had a spicy kick to it, which made it even more addictive. 🌽🧀 The steakhouse sets come in two types. The regular set includes: 🥩 Picanha 🥩 Wagyu Hanger 🥩 Prime Short Rib 🥩 Marinated Prime Short Rib The Wagyu set includes: 🥩 Ribeye 🥩 Short Rib 🥩 Ribeye Cap 🥩 Miyazaki A5 NY Strip 🥩 Marinated Short Rib You can choose the set based on your preferred meats and cuts—there's something for every budget! The portions are just right (check out the photo in slide 5 👀), and the quality is consistently great. Since the BBQ spot in Chinatown closed, this has become one of the few remaining Asian-style steakhouse gems in Chicago—definitely worth a visit! 🙌 Perilla Steakhouse: 225 N Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60601 Have you been here yet? Which steak cut are you most tempted to try?
