Chicago | Scallion Pancake + Cheese + Honey⁉️
Finally tried a restaurant that’s been on my must-eat list! Regret not going sooner—every dish was amazing! Feels like there’s a Cantonese chef in the kitchen, hahaha, every dish is an unexpected combo! If you’re in Chicago and haven’t been, you gotta rush over! 🏃♂️💨 We ordered three dips to pair with the American-style scallion pancake , and it was such an unexpected combo! But each dip was a perfect match! The eggplant was delicious, but my favorite was the ricotta —I could eat it every day, hahaha. 🍆🧀 The sweet potato 🍠 was also fantastic! It had a caramelized layer on top, giving it a candied yam vibe at first bite, but the sauce underneath was green curry —such a unique combo! We also got the mushroom rice ! Who would’ve thought you’d find a mushroom claypot rice at an American restaurant? It came with three sauces, and the yuzu sauce was so fresh and delicious. There was also a chili sauce that reminded me of Guilin chili sauce, hahaha. 🍚🍄 The steak was surprisingly impressive! Cooked to perfection, it outshone some dedicated steakhouse dishes. We even saved the yuzu sauce from the mushroom rice to pair with it—absolutely divine! It also came with a side of sautéed spinach, which I always need for my greens. 🥩🥬 There was also a weirdly amazing American-style scallion chicken —such a quirky combo that made my DNA tingle! 🐔😂 The desserts were all delicious! Even though I was completely stuffed by the end, the Hōjicha Tiramisu on the menu really caught my eye—it’s made with the same Hōjicha milk tea you can buy at the supermarket! Highly recommend! 🍰🍵 The menu changes often, so if you want to try this version, hurry over! 📍 #ChicagoFood #ExploreChicago #Foodie #Chicago #UnexpectedCombos
