Chicago | The Loyalist — Brunch by a Three-Michelin-Starred Team
Overall, I thought the experience was pretty good! Each dish carries a hint of fine dining flair, with flavor profiles reminiscent of Smyth. Highly Recommend: 🥚 Deviled Egg & Cheese Puff So delicious! This was heavenly for me—the filling is incredibly smooth and not greasy at all. I kept wanting more after finishing it. This dish clearly delivers Michelin-level texture and taste but in a generous portion. (To me, the chives on top were the perfect touch, though my onion-averse friend struggled a bit 😅) 🍔 The Loyalist Burger Personally, I prefer this over Au Cheval’s burger! The patty is cooked perfectly, and the scallion oil inside is absolutely soul-satisfying. The dipping sauce for the fries is also super interesting. (Once again, my no-onion friend had a bit of a hard time with this one 😂) Just Okay: 🍞 Anchovy Toast An interesting combination—the toast itself is tasty, but the anchovies were way too salty for my liking. 🍰 Rum Baba The whipped cream was delicious, but the sauce was a bit overly sweet. Not for Me: 🥧 Quiche I ordered this because someone highly recommended it, but as someone with a Chinese palate, I just couldn’t get into the texture of cheesy baked eggs. Final Thoughts: There were definitely standout dishes I’d come back for, and the overall quality is decent. In a city like Chicago, where great brunch spots are hard to find, this is a solid choice! #ChicagoEats #BrunchGoals #MichelinInspired #FoodieReview #ChicagoFoodie #StudentEats
