Chicago | The Most Loved French Dessert in the City Center π
Pierrot Gourmet has won my heart from its decoration to its products. It is affiliated with the Peninsula Hotel next door. Every time before a big exam, I would go there to study. The delicious and visually stunning desserts can truly soothe both body and soul. π The regular items I have tried so far are the Raspberry Rose Macaron and Coffee Bean. The Raspberry Rose Macaron is particularly unique in shape and delightful in taste. The macaron is quite large, and I would recommend sharing it with someone. Otherwise, you might find it a bit overwhelming by the end. The Coffee Bean has a slight bitterness that is perfectly balanced by the creamy milk mousse, making it easy to finish on your own. π₯ͺ Other regular offerings include the Chocolate Obsession and Blubbery Cheesecake. I haven't tried them yet as they seem a bit too common. The seasonal limited-edition items are irresistible. In my opinion, the spring and summer editions are more interesting than the autumn and winter ones. The Cranberry Pistachio Mousse is exceptional. The pink part is cranberry, and the green part is pistachio. The filling also contains pistachio mousse. It is sweet and tangy without being greasy, and it has a rich nutty aroma. It's small in size and guilt-free. π This season's new salad is also great. It is very refreshing. You can choose from Mozzarella, Burrata, and Fior di Latte for the cheese. For the side, you can pick Heirloom tomatoes or olives. As a Burrata lover, I always stick to the classic combination of tomato and Burrata. π₯ The Burrata is excellent, with none of the industrial feel you get from supermarkets. It has a soft skin and a creamy filling with a rich dairy flavor. Paired with the sweet and fresh tomatoes, it is both refreshing and satisfying. The price is a bit high. After all, making it at home could save you at least $10. π° The avocado toast is just okay, and the onion soup is a big miss. It's extremely salty and not recommended. I would suggest avoiding it. π€’ #Chicago #Explore #ChicagoFood #FrenchDessert #HiddenGems
