Chicago | Trino Steakhouse – Is a $300+ Meal Worth It? 🥩💸
Trino is a new steakhouse that opened last summer in Chicago, blending Mexican influences into classic American steak—think modern fusion in West Loop. Parking is as tricky as ever in that area, but the meat is worth the hassle. We braved the snow for our anniversary dinner! 🥩 We ordered two steaks: Prime Rib & Rib Eye The Prime Rib was the star of the meal 😋 – incredibly tender, rich in flavor but not heavy, perfectly cooked and seasoned. So good I’d be oblivious if someone dropped next to me. The Rib Eye was solid but didn’t leave as strong an impression. 🥖 Hawaiian Roll came as a nice surprise – served with two flavored butters. One was tangy, almost like a chipotle-infused butter—unexpected but addictive with the bread. Skip the roasted potatoes though – the server talked them up, but it’s literally just a small plate of potatoes for over $10. Not worth it. 🥔😒 🎂 Dessert: Tiramisu – decent but nothing special. Wouldn’t order again. 🍹 Cocktails were fine—I’m not a big drinker, so no strong opinion here. Total came to $300+. Verdict: Focus your budget on the main course—the Prime Rib is a must. Apps, drinks, and desserts are optional. If you’re in Chicago and want a serious steak, Trino is a solid option—but read the menu carefully to avoid overhyped sides like that $10+ plate of roasted potatoes! #SteakNight #DateNight #FineDining #SteakLovers #ChicagoFood #FoodieReview #WorthItOrNot
