Chicago 2-Day 1-Night Itinerary
Traveling with family? Hereโs a relaxed yet fun Chicago plan perfect for parents! ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆโจ ๐จ Accommodation Stayed at Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile โ safety first! โ Great location right near the Magnificent Mile ๐๏ธ, though no river views from here. ๐ ฟ๏ธ Parking Hotel garage: ~$60/day. ๐ก Pro tip: Use SpotHero to book cheaper parking nearby in advance! Street parking is even cheaper if youโre lucky. Day 1 ๐ Arrive at hotel โ Millennium Park โ Navy Pier โ Architecture Cruise ๐ Millennium Park Perfect for iconic photos at Cloud Gate (The Bean) and Crown Fountain ๐ธ. Lovely for a stroll in nice weather. Just steps from the lakeโwe even spotted cute geese! ๐ฆข ๐ Navy Pier A small complex with dining options. Walking around the pier takes less than an hour. We booked the Seadog Cruises departure from here ๐ค. ๐ Architecture Cruise Seadog Cruises = 10/10 recommend! 75-min tour includes 60 mins of architectural storytelling along the Chicago River ๐๏ธ, and ends with a thrilling 15-min speedboat ride back near Navy Pier! We took the last tourโsplashing through pink sunset waves was unforgettable ๐ โฆ but SO cold! โ๏ธ Definitely bring a heavy jacket, even if itโs spring! Day 2 Magnificent Mile โ Fashion Outlets of Chicago โ Head back ๐ Magnificent Mile Great for a relaxed city walk with plenty of photo ops, especially near the river ๐ธโจ. ๐ Fashion Outlets of Chicago An outlet mall near the airport โ๏ธ. Lots of common brandsโRalph Lauren and Arcโteryx have huge selections with good prices! Better than Woodbury in NY ๐โฆ but note: Chicago sales tax is a bit high. ๐ฅ Wildberry Pancakes & Cafe A popular brunch spotโalways crowded! We put our name in before walking the Magnificent Mile and got seated just in time after. Food was tasty ๐ฅ, worth trying if you avoid long waits. #Chicago #USATravel #ChicagoItinerary #WeekendGetaway #FamilyTravel
