Chicago Bagel Pop-up — Decker’s 🥯
Nowadays, everything can pop up — even bagels! This one’s by a chef from the famous Lettuce Entertain You group, reportedly baking since age 18 — so there’s experience and a story. Feels a bit like marketing, but I still fell into the consumerism trap and ordered some to try. My order: 🥯 Smoked Salmon Bagel Sandwich – This was pre-made by the kitchen. There was also a classic sausage/egg/cheese breakfast sandwich, but it sold out instantly. 🥯 Sesame & Poppy Seed Bagels (everything bagel not pictured) – Honestly, their bagels are excellent — sourdough, old yeast starter, chewy with lots of air pockets. I also grabbed a side of smoked salmon spread — really tasty. 🥯 Blueberry Cheese Danish – This one’s sweetened to American preferences — not really recommended for Asian palates. They thoughtfully included bagel storage instructions, with different methods depending on how soon you plan to eat them. Very considerate! Though buying bagels alone requires a half-dozen minimum, which isn’t super solo-friendly… but since they’re so good, I’ll forgive them for a second. #SummerFoodieCat 🐱 #ChicagoLife #Chicago #ExploreChicago #ChicagoEats #BrunchVibes
