Chicago Boka Michelin Star Experience ✨ | Restaurant Week
Traveling for work to Chicago, I luckily snagged a 6 PM solo bar seat at Boka while on the plane — instant book! Despite the frigid -10°F weather, the place was fully packed, with tables turning almost hourly. Quite a few solo diners too — clearly a destination spot. As they say: Outside, the snow keeps falling; inside, the wine keeps flowing. 🍷❄️ Overall: 8/10 1️⃣ Beef Tartare – Main flavor profile is sweet & sour. The standout? Wasabi mustard sauce — not mentioned much in other reviews, but it really elevates the dish. 2️⃣ Scallops – Creamy but slightly overcooked. One bite and I thought: “I’ve had better.” 3️⃣ Roasted Chicken – Star of the night! Crispy, sesame-crusted skin; moist, smoked breast; silky vegetable purée and sauce — every element purposeful. Technical yet delicious. Reminded me why I came for a Michelin experience. 4️⃣ Mango Bavarois – Texture like sorbet, a strong, tangy-sweet finish. Perfect closer. 5️⃣ Old Fashioned – One of the best I’ve had recently. Rich, smooth whiskey with a sweet touch. Pricey at $35, but worth it. 💰 Total: $60 (Restaurant Week menu) $35 (Old Fashioned) #Chicago #ChicagoEats #MichelinStar #Boka #RestaurantWeek #ChicagoFoodie #SoloDining
