Chicago Citywalk — Don’t Just Go to Wicker Park! 🌆
The Wrightwood & N Clark St area is another wonderful spot for a relaxed stroll. Here’s what you can explore: 📍 Wrightwood 659 – A gallery designed by Tadao Ando. The current exhibition, “The First Homosexuals”, runs until July 26. It features paintings, sculptures, and works portraying figures like Virginia Woolf, Mei Lanfang, and Egon Schiele. ⚠️ Note: Some pieces are quite explicit—there’s even an “erotic wall” with graphic imagery. 📍 Taiyaki Chicago – About a 10‑min walk from the gallery. A taiyaki (fish‑shaped) ice cream spot—looked super tempting on Google Photos, though I didn’t try it that day 🤤. 📍 D Cuisine – A dim sum spot that’s delicious and affordable! My friend and I ate well for under $50. Service was a bit slow, but maybe that means everything’s made fresh 😉. 📍 Gramaphone Records – Just 5 minutes from the ice cream shop. A cool vinyl store with retro disco‑style diamond‑pattern flooring. They sell records, CDs, cassettes, and merch—plus a free‑vinyl box at the entrance! 🎵 📍 Tuk Tuk Thai Isan Street Food – Across from the record store. A popular Thai spot—there was a wait when we went, so we ended up skipping it. 📍 Sunset Pho Caffe – A well‑known Vietnamese restaurant next to Tuk Tuk Thai. Unfortunately, they were closed for vacation when we visited—next time! #ChicagoLife #Chicago #ChicagoEats #StudyInUSA #ChicagoFood #UChicago
