Chicago Food: Haisous Vietnamese Cuisine ๐Ÿœโœจ

A Vietnamese restaurant especially popular among foreigners. Due to the pandemic, they only recently reopened for dine-in on Thursdays through Sundays (starting from Motherโ€™s Day). Finally got a chance to try it today โ€” and yes, reservations are recommended! The interior has a modern, Euro-chic vibe with an open kitchen โ€” clean, stylish, and comfortable ๐Ÿ˜Œ. Now, onto the food! Starters Green Papaya Salad with Beef Jerky โ€” A refreshing, crunchy salad with sweet, sour, and tangy flavors. Always a must-order for me at Vietnamese spots! Signature Crispy Chicken Wings โ€” Surprisingly amazing! Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy inside, with a hint of spice. Highly recommend ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Main Courses Pan-Seared Ribeye Steak โ€” Cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. The seasoned salt it came with was the real star โ€” so delicious! Seafood Platter (Not on the regular menu โ€” the chef kindly prepared it for us since the whole fish we wanted was sold out.) ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ™ Included large shrimp, clams, octopus, and mussels. The seafood was fresh, but the standout was the dipping sauce โ€” absolutely divine! Grilled Octopus โ€” Nothing special here; honestly skippable (I even forgot to take a pic ๐Ÿ˜…). Dessert ๐Ÿฎ Bamboo Sticky Rice โ€” Photogenic, but a bit dry and not as warm, soft, or sweet as Iโ€™d hoped. The cream it came with was tasty, but overall I wouldnโ€™t recommend #ChicagoEats #VietnameseFood #Haisous #OpenKitchen #FoodReview #MustTry #SeafoodLover
