Chicago Food｜🥐 Hidden Instagram Bakery Gem

Tried countless croissants in Chicago but never found “the one”… Until I discovered Dan the Baker — a hidden gem you order from via Instagram or their website! Every Monday, they open online orders for pickup Friday–Sunday at The Emily Hotel’s cafe in West Loop. (The cafe sells some basic pastries too, but the full range is online-only — and cheaper!) This was my second visit — first time I devoured everything before taking photos 😅 My favorite? The Plain Croissant ‼️ (Way better than Léa!) Just pop it in the air fryer to warm up — so flaky, buttery, and fragrant. I love DIY-ing mine with ham and cheese 🧀 — absolutely satisfying! The Almond Croissant is also lovely, though the Ham & Cheese Croissant was a bit light on filling. Every pastry is generously sized and made with quality ingredients — definitely tastier than most bakeries around. Pair with coffee ☕️ for a perfect morning.
