Chicago Food|First Look❗️Newly Two-Star Restaurant
Tried Moody Tongue, a Michelin two-star restaurant that earned its sta🌟🌟. It’s easily one of this year’s most delightful and reasonably priced fine dining surprises! What sets it apart: it’s currently the only brewpub in the U.S. with a Michelin star 🍻. We originally wanted the tasting menu, but the dining room was fully booked — so we opted for the bar instead. And wow, the bar vibe and à la carte menu were absolutely on point — delicious and great value. Highly recommended! 📍 Bronzeville Dishes in order of appearance: 1️⃣ Assorted Beers When you’re here, you have to try their beer! They thoughtfully offer 4oz pours so you can sample several. From left to right in the photo: 🍺 Sparkling White Grape Berliner Weisse — my favorite of the four 🍺 Peelee Grapefruit Pilsner — also excellent 🍺 Frozen Banana Hefeweizen — decent, smells distinctly like banana 🍌 🍺 Juiced Lychee IPA — a bit too bitter for my taste 2️⃣ Maine Diver Scallops Perfectly seared — crispy outside, tender inside — paired with meaty, smooth chanterelle mushrooms 🍄. 3️⃣ King Crab Corn Velouté A luscious creamy soup with king crab meat 🦀, roasted corn 🌽, and shishito peppers. Hands-down the best dish of the night ❤️. 4️⃣ Maple Leaf Duck Breast One of the mains — duck breast with spinach and black lentils. The chef recommends medium-rare; I went with medium 🦆. 5️⃣ Mishima Ranch NY Strip Incredibly tender and flavorful steak, prepared differently from your typical steakhouse. The standout side: twice-baked potato skins filled with mashed potatoes and topped with salmon roe 🥔✨. 6️⃣ Dessert: Tart Cherry Mille-Feuille A stunning cherry Napoleon 🍒. The puff pastry is thin, crispy, and fragrant, and the cherry jam is perfectly sweet. #ChicagoFood #MichelinTwoStar #MoodyTongue #BrewpubFineDining #ChicagoEats
