Chicago Food|Michelin-Starred Middle Eastern — Galit 🌟
Chicago’s only Michelin-starred Middle Eastern restaurant, Galit, is located in Lincoln Park. The vibe is modern and minimal, with a shared-style menu — $98 per person for 4 courses. Portions are generous, starters are solid, but mains were a bit underwhelming. Highly recommend the Israeli wine pairing — complements the food beautifully. Service felt a bit rushed, not quite one-star level — they even brought dessert before we could order drinks. Note: A 20% service charge is added automatically. Highlights below ‼️ 🥙 Hummus (choose one for two people) 【Bubbe’s Brisket】 RECOMMEND ‼️ Tender braised brisket over creamy hummus, served with freshly baked pita — the star of the meal. We scraped the bowl clean! 🥗 Salatim Four small Israeli-style sides served with the hummus and pita — loved the eggplant dip and kale-corn salad. A lovely, traditional touch to start the meal. 🍽️ Mezze (one per person) 【Foie Gras】 RECOMMEND ❗️ Rich foie gras on challah bread — delicious but rich. Best enjoyed with wine. 【Stuffed Pepper】 Red bell pepper filled with tomato salad and fresh strawberries — tangy, sweet, and refreshing. 🍖 Mains (one per person) 【Lamb Kebab】 Good but not outstanding. The zucchini-pumpkin “noodles” on the side were a nice touch. 【Pastrami】 Flavorful smoked beef, but the salad and sauce were overly salty and acidic. 🍫 Dessert (shared for two) 【White Chocolate Crémeux】 Dark chocolate cream cakes topped with meringue — would pair better with tea. 🍷 Wine Pick: Dalton Asufa (Israeli red) — unexpectedly delicious! $20/glass. 【Galit】 📍 2429 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 #MichelinChicago #MiddleEasternFood #ChicagoEats #DateNightSpot #FineDining
