Chicago Food|Vibey Mexican Restaurant 🇲🇽 Tzuco 💯

A River North gem in downtown Chicago — Tzuco 🍴 comes highly recommended! Drawn in by the outdoor floral wall bursting with pink blooms 🌸, stepping inside feels like entering a mini museum of Mexican history and culture, filled with traditional artifacts. The chef — the first Latin American to earn a Michelin star — elevates Mexican cuisine with fine-dining finesse, reminding me of upscale meals I’ve had in Mexico itself. Perfect for friend gatherings or family meals when you’re craving something different. Here’s what we tried (just two of us for lunch — next time bringing more friends to try more! 😋): 1️⃣ Tzuco Burger 🍔 — a signature must-try! Made with fresh beef tenderloin (we ordered well-done but it was still juicy!). Loaded with roasted tomatoes, cheese, pickled golden beets, black truffle mayo, and a fried egg 🍳 — balanced and satisfying. Comes with a generous side of fries 🍟. 2️⃣ Agua de Jamaica 🥤 — a classic Mexican street drink made from hibiscus and sugar. Tangy and sweet, super refreshing — like a slightly sweeter version of Chinese sour plum drink. I diluted it a bit with water and it was perfect. 3️⃣ Pulpo Taco 🌮 — soft corn tortillas wrapped around tender grilled octopus with avocado, special salsa, and pickled red onion. Great for octopus lovers — and the dipping sauce on the side is delicious! 4️⃣ Shakshuka 🍳 — solid but not mind-blowing. Rich tomato sauce served with naan 🫓 — good for brunch, and the bread was excellent. 📍 Tzuco 720 N State St, Chicago, IL 60654 #ChicagoEats #ChicagoLife #ChicagoRestaurants #VibeDining #DateNightSpot #FoodShare
