Chicago Food Review — Alpana 🍽️

Located near Loyola University Chicago, this restaurant has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. It wasn’t too busy on a weekday evening—perfect for a casual gathering or catching up with friends. Here’s what we ordered: 😋 Food ✨ Brussels Sprout Crostini – Better than expected! The sprouts weren’t tough and seemed pre‑marinated in balsamic—rich vinegar aroma paired with toasted bread made for a delicious, layered bite. ✨ Pistachio Pesto Pasta – My favorite dish! A fragrant, nutty pesto with a refreshing finish of green peas and sweet‑tangy cherry tomatoes—well‑balanced and full of flavor. ✨ Red Wine Braised Short Ribs – The beef was fall‑apart tender (a fork easily pulled it apart) and tasty, though I personally prefer a bit more texture, so it didn’t wow me. 🍷 Drinks ✨ Boat Daddy Peach Smash – Fresh peach sweetness upfront, but the Evan Williams whiskey comes through strong on the finish, adding a bold kick. Great if you like heavier drinks, but the alcohol might overshadow the fruit if you prefer something lighter. ✨ Down in Kokomo – My personal favorite! Plantation Pineapple Rum and lime cordial create a bright, tropical flavor—smooth and perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy. 📍 Address: 831 N State St, Chicago, IL 60610 #ChicagoEats #AlpanaChicago #LoyolaEats #CocktailBar #DateNightSpot #ChicagoFoodie
