Chicago Food Visit | Trust the Locals on Roasted Pork Knuckle
This German restaurant was highly recommended by my Chicago local friend — one of his favorites in North Center. We went on a cool evening and it did not disappoint! Laschet’s Inn 🧾 Price: $20–30 per person (before tip) 📍 Address: 2119 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60618 Laschet’s Inn feels classic and old-school — wooden decor, warm dim lighting, cozy and quiet. Our server was an older gentleman who seemed serious but was actually very attentive. My friend always orders the Goulash Soup here — apparently a must-try for German food in Chicago — but I skipped it this time 😄. 🥩 Must-Try|Schweinshaxe (Roasted Pork Knuckle) Price: $29 If it’s your first time, you have to try this! The portion is huge — perfect for two. The skin is super crispy, the meat underneath tender and flavorful. Served with sauerkraut and roasted potatoes — hearty and satisfying. 🍋 Also Good|Königsberger Klopse (Meatballs in Lemon-Caper Sauce) Price: $17 Beef and pork meatballs in a tangy lemon sauce — lighter in flavor and also generously sized. If you’re not super hungry or it’s your first visit, maybe start with the pork knuckle. #100RestaurantsChallenge #Chicago #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #ChicagoDining 🍖🇩🇪✨
