Chicago German Food 🇩🇪 Trying Something Different!
📍 Berghoff Restaurant 🌸 Gretchen's Potato Pancake A must-order‼️ So unexpectedly good — topped with what I think is bacon and prepared with a sweet touch, totally different from what I imagined a “pancake” to be 😄. 🌸 Wiener Schnitzel Breaded and fried veal steak 🥩 — forgot to take a picture of the inside! First time trying fried steak; the meat inside was tender, and the outside tasted like crispy schnitzel 🍛. 🌸 Sauerbraten My friend’s order — tried a bite of the beef. Very tender, served with gravy. Feels like a classic American-style preparation, but it's a popular dish here. 🌸 Hubert’s Hefeweizen My favorite German wheat beer — sweet and refreshing 🍺. 💰 Around $40–50 per person. The atmosphere is nice — a great change if you're tired of the usual spots. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting! I really wanted to try their German sausages, but the photos didn’t look too appealing 😅. If anyone’s tried them, let me know — I’ll go back for them next time! #ChicagoEats #GermanFood #BerghoffRestaurant #ChicagoFoodie #TrySomethingNew
