Chicago Hidden Gem #8|The Steakhouse Warren Buffett Loves 🥩
Rumor has it Smith & Wollensky is a go-to spot for Warren Buffett when he’s in Chicago! Met up with friends here for a summer dinner — it’s right by the river, with both indoor seating and a lovely outdoor patio. Perfect for warm evenings. 📋 What We Ordered: 🦀 Crab Cake – A bit loose in texture, but still tasty with nice chunks of crab. Lightly seasoned — good as an appetizer. 🧀 Burrata – Huge and creamy, served with crispy, oily baguette and a flavorful sauce. Simple and fresh. 🥩 Signature Filet (Medium Rare) – Tender and juicy, well-marbled, seasoned simply with salt and pepper. Huge portion — almost too much for one person! 🍟 Truffle Fries – How can truffle fries ever be bad? So aromatic and delicious. 🥬 Asparagus – Surprisingly tender and tasty, topped with a creamy mayo-like sauce. A refreshing, well-executed side. 📍 Smith & Wollensky - Chicago 318 N State St, Chicago, IL 60654 💰 ~$80–100 per person (more with drinks) Rating: 7–8/10 ✅ Great summer riverside vibe, extensive menu, high-quality steak (dry-aged is a must-try). ❌ Service was just okay — our server seemed a bit indifferent, and the steak took 1.5 hours to arrive. Go for the atmosphere and steak, not the service vibe. Got any other favorite steakhouse recommendations in Chicago? 👇 #ChicagoSteakhouse #SteakLovers #ChicagoEats #FineDining #RiverfrontDining
