Chicago Izakaya 🏮 – Japanese Food, Sweet Cocktails
This spot is the izakaya section of Momotaro—not only are the drinks great, but the Japanese food is also excellent! The atmosphere is a bit lively (can get noisy), so it’s best to reserve ahead. Sitting at the high-top tables adds to the vibe! 🍸 Kabayashi – A total sweet cocktail starring coconut milk, purple sweet potato, and sake. 🥃 Old Fashioned – Well-balanced, with an orange peel that mellows the alcohol and adds aroma. 🍺 Highballs – You really can’t go wrong with any of them. 🍜 Hand Roll: Salmon + Avocado Yuzu Mousse – How could that not be delicious?! Plus, you roll it yourself—perfect for anyone who defines "one bite" differently 😄. 🍟 Sweet Potato Fries – Don’t miss these hand-cut fries served with unique miso mayo. 🍝 Uni Pasta – Not the best value (small portion and a bit rich). 🍜 Ramen – A tad salty but flavorful. 🍢 Chicken Dumpling Skewers – More like chewy chicken mochi—tasty! 🍨 Sundae – Highly recommended! Coconut ice cream + mango popping pearls + purple sweet potato cream. Who came up with this combo?! So good and big enough to share. 💰 Per person: ~$90 📍 Address: The Izakaya at Momotaro (Lower Level) 820 W Lake St, Chicago, IL 60607 #Chicago #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFoodie #ExploreChicago #IzakayaLife
