Chicago Michelin โญ Jeong โ A Yuzu Paradise? ๐
Went with friends to try Chicago's 1-star Korean-Asian fusion spot Jeong. Overall it was solid โ no misses, but no wow moments either. Rating: 3.5/5. ๐ First course: Yuzu-flavored prawn with enoki mushrooms โ refreshing. ๐ Second: Salmon tartare with crispy rice โ still that yuzu aroma, sweet & tangy. ๐ Third: Fish cake (traditional Korean style) with shrimp, scallop, and creamy sauce โ just okay. ๐ BEST DISH โ Scallop Arrived with a gorgeous seared aroma โ tender inside, lightly charred outside, creamy sauce. So good! ๐ Sixth course: Duck with grits โ crispy skin but a bit oily. ๐ Final savory: Australian Wagyu with rice and banchan โ filling but beef lacked richness and marbling. ๐ Desserts: Ginger cookie/mousse with cranberry sorbet + tea cake with almond ice cream โ not too sweet (a plus!). Meal pacing felt quicker than other Michelin spots. Cozy, intimate space. Fun detail: even the bathroom hand cream was yuzu-scented โ loved it! ๐งดโจ #ChicagoEats #Jeong #MichelinStar #KoreanFusion #YuzuEverything #SolidNotStellar
