Chicago Michelin-Starred Elizabeth — Autumn Visit 🍂
Though labeled “late summer” on the menu, Elizabeth’s latest dinner already leans into richer, heartier proteins perfect for fall and winter 🍁❄️. My last visit a few years ago was disappointing — the non-alcoholic pairing felt lazy (one glass of hay water for three courses? 🥤), and foraged flowers even had little bugs crawling out… not appetizing 🐛😖. But after their reopening this August, with much better reviews, I decided to give it another try — and I’m glad I did! The experience has improved noticeably ✨. This time, the drink pairings were thoughtful and well-matched, with a different beverage for almost every course 🍷🍶. The food was also elevated in both flavor and texture. Favorites included: ❄️ Chilled turbot — delicate and refreshing. 🦪 Mussels with squash — comforting and savory. 🦆 Duck — incredibly tender and flavorful. For dessert, highlights were the fig sorbet and the milk tea pie in the first photo 🥧🍨 — both delightful! Overall, a much better experience — I’ll definitely be back when the menu changes with the seasons 🔁.
