Chicago Michelin-Starred North Pond โ Summer Visit โ๏ธ
Itโs been a year since my last visit to North Pond. Back then, construction equipment was parked right by the lake ๐ง. This time, the lakeshore has been restored โ just the city skyline reflected peacefully on the water ๐๐ง. Hereโs the view from the outdoor dining area. Even with the air quality a bit hazy that day, the scenery was still lovely. Brunch hours are especially charming โ lots of people walking their dogs, basically a parade of cute pups ๐โจ! Complimentary lemon & pumpkin seed cake (skip the frosting if you prefer less sweet). ๐ฐ Rabbit Sausage Eggs Benedict The egg was slightly overcooked โ more like hard-boiled than poached ๐ฅ. But the rabbit sausage was amazing, especially with a touch of ketchup! ๐ฅ Summer Squash Salad Fried green tomatoes, tender squash, assorted greens, and a tangy Green Goddess dressing โ bright and appetizing! ๐ฅฉ New York Strip Steak (medium-well) Served with roasted potatoes, a sunny-side-up egg, pickled fennel, and sautรฉed mushrooms. For best texture, medium-rare is recommended โ we went medium-well for my momโs preference. ๐ Striped Bass With pickled strawberries, young asparagus, and roasted bok choy. The bok choy was sweet, asparagus tangy, and the miso-basil sauce underneath tasted more like a vibrant pesto. ๐ง Raspberry Semifreddo Rich on its own, but balanced by the pandan leaf cake on top โ made with real pandan juice, not artificial flavoring ๐ฟ๐. ๐ฎ Bread Pudding Caramel sauce with yuzu was still quite sweet, but the pickled rhubarb added a nice tart contrast. A Michelin-starred brunch with lakeside views for just $54 per person โ such a worthwhile experience! โ North Pond: 2610 N Cannon Dr, Chicago, IL 60614 ๐ #SummerFoodieCat #ChicagoLife #ExploreChicago #ChicagoTravel #ChicagoFood #MichelinStar
