Chicago Moroccan β€” Marrakech, Delicious & Cozy Family Restaurant πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦βœ¨

Celebrated a friend’s birthday here β€” such a gem! πŸ“ Marrakech 1440 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60642 An authentic Moroccan restaurant, family-owned! The decor is unique and adorable β€” all the and tableware were brought over by the owner from Morocco! The chef is the owner’s wife, and the owner himself is super friendly β€” served us and explained every dish. πŸ” Chicken Pastilla β€” my absolute favorite! Listed as an appetizer, but it’s a signature Moroccan pie. OMG β€” crispy on the outside, layers of phyllo-like thin pastry, dusted with a touch of powdered sugar. Inside: shredded chicken thigh, tender and fragrant. Sweet-savory combo done perfectly β€” highly recommend! They also have a Seafood Pastilla β€” sadly sold out that day. Definitely want to go back for it lol. πŸ§† Marrakech Deal β€” another great appetizer. Kinda like the veggie platters you get at Ethiopian restaurants β€” flavorful dips. 🍲 Tagines β€” the main event. Tagine is a North African slow-cooked stew, also the name of that little β€œtent” or β€œhat”-shaped pot πŸ˜‚ They have lots of options β€” all pretty solid. Order based on your favorite meat and ingredients. We had a big group, so we tried lamb, chicken, and the Marrakech Tagine (signature) β€” all recommended! #ChicagoEats #MoroccanFood #Marrakech #FamilyOwned #Pastilla #Tagine #HiddenGem πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦πŸ₯˜βœ¨
