Chicago OC's New American Cuisine - 3š Recommendation
The ambiance is decentāit's a national chain with locations across the country. A friend who'd tried it elsewhere specifically wanted to visit the Chicago location. Four of us ordered five dishes, and while the menu is creative, I wouldn't say it's particularly tailored to my taste despite online claims. š Tuna Tartare Not badātuna on top, avocado and wasabi underneath. The wasabi seems real (milder than the usual fake stuff), and the crispy chips served with it are tasty. š„© Philly Flatbread Pretty good! The crust is like a mini Pizza Hut thin crust, but with richer toppingsābeef that's not overly salty (a rare find in North America!). š Black Lentil Bolognese Not my favorite. The yellow wine flavor is too strong, and the lentils are just... meh. The pasta itself is okay, not terrible, but nothing special. š Chilean Sea Bass Decentālooks more appetizing than anything in Zelda: Breath of the Wild š. The rice underneath is nice, but at $50 after tax and tip, the portion is small for the price. š Kona-Crusted Lamb Loin Better value than the sea bass! Three lamb chops served over creamy mashed potatoes (which are excellent), and the lamb itself is well-prepared. š° Desserts $4 per personānot bad! The staff brings a little basket for you to pick from. We tried four different ones, and the unanimous verdict: way too sweet. ā ļø PSA: The suggested tip starts at 18%ācalculated after taxāwhich feels a bit greedy and costs them a star in my book. Final Thoughts: The vibe is nice, and the food is fineānothing terrible (the flatbread is actually quite good!). But it's not worth a special trip. If you're nearby? Sure. Making a detour? Nah. š Location: 3 Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook, IL 60523, United States š½ļø What We Ordered: ⢠Tuna Tartare ⢠Philly Flatbread ⢠Chilean Sea Bass ⢠Kona-Crusted Lamb Loin ⢠Black Lentil Bolognese ⢠Assorted desserts šø Total: $151.58 (after tax, before tip) š æļø Parking: Plenty of spots right outsideāsuper easy! #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFoodie #NewAmericanCuisine #Season52 #ChicagoRestaurants #ChainRestaurant #DateNightSpot #FoodReview #ChicagoDining #NotWorthTheHype
