Chicago Pop-Up Dinner β Kedai Tapao πβ¨
Iβve written about this Malaysian pop-up twice before β love their food. When I heard they were hosting another event at Superkhana International, I booked right away. π₯₯ Full Spread β This time, instead of slow community-style dining, they served all dishes at once β everything arrived within 30 minutes. π₯ Salted Egg Salmon Skin β Crispy, savory, better than store-bought snacks. π Pumpkin Coconut Curry β Sweet, creamy, fragrant. π Roti + Chicken Curry + Lentil Curry β Chicken curry was classic; lentil curry was deeper and spicier. π Char Siu Wonton Noodles β Dry-style noodles with special sauce β more flavorful than soup versions. Char siu was caramelized and tender. π Skate Wing Nasi Ulam β Herby, tangy (tamarind!), sweet-spicy β complex and delicious. π‘ Desserts β Pandan ondeh-ondeh and cendol were pandan-loverβs dreams. Sarawak layer cake was a bit dry; pumpkin coconut cake was my favorite (coconut bias admitted). π₯€ Masala Soda β Tangy, spicy, refreshing. Highly recommend following them on IG for future events β every menu is a flavor adventure. #KedaiTapao #MalaysianFood #PopUpDining #ChicagoEats #SuperkhanaInternational
