Chicago Pop-Up Dinner β€” Kedai Tapao πŸ›βœ¨

I’ve written about this Malaysian pop-up twice before β€” love their food. When I heard they were hosting another event at Superkhana International, I booked right away. πŸ₯₯ Full Spread – This time, instead of slow community-style dining, they served all dishes at once β€” everything arrived within 30 minutes. πŸ₯š Salted Egg Salmon Skin – Crispy, savory, better than store-bought snacks. πŸŽƒ Pumpkin Coconut Curry – Sweet, creamy, fragrant. 🍞 Roti + Chicken Curry + Lentil Curry – Chicken curry was classic; lentil curry was deeper and spicier. 🍜 Char Siu Wonton Noodles – Dry-style noodles with special sauce β€” more flavorful than soup versions. Char siu was caramelized and tender. 🐟 Skate Wing Nasi Ulam – Herby, tangy (tamarind!), sweet-spicy β€” complex and delicious. 🍑 Desserts – Pandan ondeh-ondeh and cendol were pandan-lover’s dreams. Sarawak layer cake was a bit dry; pumpkin coconut cake was my favorite (coconut bias admitted). πŸ₯€ Masala Soda – Tangy, spicy, refreshing. Highly recommend following them on IG for future events β€” every menu is a flavor adventure. #KedaiTapao #MalaysianFood #PopUpDining #ChicagoEats #SuperkhanaInternational
