Chicago Restaurant Week: I’m Such a Sucker — Perilla
When I first moved to Chicago, I was really into trying Restaurant Week deals—easy way to get more for less and quickly figure out if I liked a place. After living here longer, though, I stopped caring much. Honestly, Restaurant Week menus started feeling pretty limiting.💕😘 Thanks to the pandemic, I hadn’t taken part in Restaurant Week for two years and honestly forgot about it. Last week, my Korean-American friend said Perilla seemed nice and invited us to dinner. But as soon as we walked in, we were told only Restaurant Week menus were available—one a $39 street food menu, the other a $55 traditional Korean menu. And they were still enforcing the 90-minute dining limit from pandemic times. Seriously?? 😑 Here’s the menu—notice there’s no banchan included, you have to pay extra. Also, no desserts on the menu.😊👌 Three of us ordered two traditional menus and one street food menu, totaling about $75 per person. And honestly, the Korean BBQ house I went to the night before was way better—only $20 per person with banchan included. No more words… just gonna go cry a little. 😭 Perilla: 401 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60654 #ChicagoLife #Chicago #WeekendFoodAdventure #ChicagoRestaurantWeek
