Chicago Restaurant Week|avec West Loop 🇲🇽🍴

Both avec locations are participating in Restaurant Week—this time I tried the West Loop spot. We chose the $60 dinner—a fixed five-course menu, portioned per person (photos show servings for two). 💥 Portions are HUGE, left absolutely stuffed! 💥 The dishes are creative and varied, hitting sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy notes with bold, almost Asian-fusion flavors. Service is super efficient. The space feels zen-inspired with lots of wood and beautiful lighting, but it’s very tight and crowded. ⚠️ Shared tables—we were seated with four other strangers. If that’s not your thing, maybe skip this one! The Menu 🍽️ 🥇 First Course – MVP! Cured trout with mushrooms, peanuts, black vinegar, sesame sauce, and chili oil—textured, flavorful, and delightfully Asian-inspired. 🥗 Second Course – Kale Salad Well-prepared, no “green” taste, seasoned with Mexican-inspired dressing. Honestly, I was already getting full after this 😅 🌯 Third Course – Bacon-Wrapped Dates Creative and hearty—one date per person, stuffed with date purée between bacon and spicy chorizo. Salty, sweet, and spicy—a bit rich by the second one, but worth trying! 🍚 Fourth Course – Seafood Paella Classic paella done well—loaded with tender chicken thighs, shrimp, and chorizo. 🍮 Dessert – Rice Pudding Sweet, creamy, and delicious 😋 📍 Final Thoughts: Filling, inventive, and great for bold flavors and adventurous eaters—but not ideal if you dislike crowds or shared tables. Address: 615 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60661 #ChicagoRestaurantWeek #MediterraneanFood #WestLoopEats #DesignForward #VibeDining
