Chicago Restaurant Week|Book This Heart-Throbbing French Restaurant!
French cuisine is one of my global top 3 cuisines — Diverse techniques 👍🏻, broad ingredients 👍🏻, precise seasoning 👍🏻. But personally, I’m not into overly fussy, “high-end” French dining. I love French food that’s romantic yet cozy, confident without needing chandeliers and velvet decor 👑. This year, 9 French spots are participating in Restaurant Week. I’ve tried three — here are my thoughts combined with their menus: ▫️ Bistronomic $25 Brunch/Lunch | $42 & $59 Dinner Most recommend the $42 dinner! Three to four options per course. The Burgundy Beef — a signature dish — shows real on the menu. Atmosphere: warm, romantic, relaxed… feels like the France I miss. And dessert? 🍮 Always trust a well-regarded French restaurant’s sweets 👍🏻. ▫️ Mon Ami Gabi $25 Brunch | $59 Dinner The restaurant itself is more polished than Bistronomic in food, ambiance, and service — elegant, “old money” but not stuffy. But the Restaurant Week menu (only 2–3 choices each for brunch/dinner) feels rushed. Better to order à la carte here! ▫️ Venteux Cafe, Brasserie & Oyster Bar $59 Dinner That Insta-famous café everyone was checking out? Yep, that one.🙌😊 Dinner decor is upscale. Their beef tartare, roasted duck, and cocktails are fantastic — Only downside: value isn’t the best. The Restaurant Week menu seems a bit lazy this time. The rest I haven’t tried — just judging by their RW menus: ▫️ Taureaux Tavern, Brasserie by C&C, Aboyer — $59 dinners seem… questionable. ▫️ Bistro Campagne — feels similar to Bistronomic, menu looks promising. I’d give it a go. ⭐ Final Take: ▫️ For Restaurant Week — highly recommend Bistronomic, maybe Bistro Campagne. ▫️ Mon Ami Gabi & Venteux — skip the RW menu, but order à la carte! ▫️ Others — hard to judge, but not optimistic based on their RW offerings. #100RestaurantsChallenge #ChicagoEats #FrenchCuisine #ChicagoRestaurantWeek
