Chicago Restaurant Week|Coquette 🍷
It was freezing cold on the first day of Restaurant Week — face-numbing kind of cold 🥶 — but that didn’t stop Chicagoans from dining out. In winter, this is pretty much the only reason to leave the house 😏. After this meal, my friend and I officially leveled up from "good friends" to "ride-or-die friends" — braving this weather together is true love ❤️👯♀️! 🍴 Foie Gras – Rich and creamy, served with toasted brioche, fig jam, and pickled mushrooms. The star of the meal ✨🦢. Would’ve been even better if the brioche was warm. 🍴 Escargot Meurette – Snails with savory bacon bits, but way too salty! We asked for bread (which was also cold 🥖😭) to soak up the sauce — saved the dish barely. 🍴 Daube à La Nicoise – Braised short ribs with a lovely citrus aroma, though a bit underseasoned. Underneath lay the star: creamy gratin potatoes — so fragrant and comforting 🥔💛. My friend’s seafood stew had mussels that weren’t fresh — wouldn’t recommend 🐚👎. 🍮 Tarte Aux Noisettes – French desserts really are the masters 🎩👑. Topped with thin caramelized white chocolate, the tart was perfectly balanced — not too sweet, with a tangy cranberry or hawthorn layer cutting through the richness. Magnifique! The crème brûlée had a chocolate base — a creative twist 🍫✨. Overall, not a must-visit — but if you do go, stick to desserts and drinks 🍸. And most importantly: choose your dining companion wisely 😉. #ChicagoRestaurantWeek #CoquetteChicago #FrenchCuisine #WinterDining #FriendGoals
