Chicago Restaurant Week – French Restaurant Aboyer 🇫🇷
Tried French cuisine today, but it felt more like… Americanized French?? 😤 🐌 French Escargot – A unique twist with garlic, cilantro, and tequila. Interesting, but not exactly classic. 🍲 Black Truffle Potato Soup – Topped with crispy fried potato strings — rich and comforting. Probably the best dish of the meal! 🇫🇷✨ 🥩 Prime Top Sirloin Bistro Steak – Cooked medium rare and quite tender, tasty… but honestly reminded me of Texas Roadhouse 🫡. Very American-style. 🐟 Salmon with Black Pepper & Mashed Potatoes – Creamy potato mash, but the salmon was unevenly cooked (some parts still raw). After recently watching Netflix’s You Are What You Eat, I wasn’t really in the mood for salmon… and was it really from the Faroe Islands? 🥱 🍋 Lemon Tart – Had a slightly eggy, almost raw taste. Not a fan 👎. 🍫 Chocolate Soufflé – Way too sweet and heavy for me. Couldn’t finish it. Overall, the Restaurant Week menu was just okay. Their regular à la carte menu looks more promising — includes foie gras and other classics. Maybe next time I’ll skip the prix fixe and order differently. 🥶 #100RestaurantsChallenge #DinnerTonight #FoodInspo #ChicagoEats #ChicagoRestaurantWeek
