Chicago Restaurant Week – Proxi 💚
Went to this highly recommended spot based on reviews, but my friend and I agreed: It really didn’t live up to the hype!!! (Maybe it just didn’t suit our taste.) First, the entrance—we couldn’t even find the door when we got out of the car 😂😂 Finally spotted the handle, pulled it a few times before realizing it was a push door 🤣 Maybe upscale restaurants have a high “entry threshold”… The ambiance was elegant, and it was pretty packed last night. Lots of businesspeople and well-dressed groups chatting over drinks (we were seated inside at one of four small tables—the other three were clearly there for wine and conversation, while we were just there to eat haha). About the food—honestly, it really didn’t suit our taste 😰 One cauliflower dish was crazy salty—after a few bites, I kept chugging water (pretty sure I got full on water). The red dish… let’s just say: it was really not good (or maybe I just don’t appreciate fine dining 😅). The other dishes were just okay—nothing impressive. The best thing was the steak, which we had to pay extra for, but I’ll admit the texture was decent. Dessert was way too sweet for someone like me who usually drinks black coffee—felt like I needed insulin after. Final bill (with tax) for three people: $220.32, about $73.44 per person. We didn’t really leave full (though the water was nice—not tap water). Not exactly delicious, but it was an experience. Oh, and when we left—we couldn’t find the door again 😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣 (The most fun part of the night was definitely the “find the door” game.) (All opinions are personal—just sharing our experience.) #Chicago #ChicagoLife #WeekendEats #VibeDining #ChicagoRestaurantWeek 🍽️🚪
