Chicago Restaurant Week - Stop #2: Proxi ๐ŸŒŸ

Once again dining with Her Majesty Yuan ๐Ÿ‘‘, this time we tried fusion cuisine at Proxi. Thereโ€™s even a YouTube interview with the chef for those interested in a behind-the-scenes look! ๐ŸŽฅ The meal was a mix of hits and misses. The $45 prix-fixe included three courses and a dessert โ€” pretty good value overall! Course 1: Foie Gras Torchon ๐Ÿฆ†: Fragrant with yuzu zest for a unique texture, but way too salty. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ Samosa Chaat ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ: Indian-style fried dumplings with cucumber yogurt and chutneys. I havenโ€™t had the authentic version, but this felt oddly unbalanced โ€” canโ€™t quite put my finger on it. ๐Ÿค” Course 2: Thai Red Curry Clams with Minced Pork ๐Ÿš: Again, too salty! Wouldโ€™ve been perfect with less seasoning. ๐Ÿฅต Misoyaki Black Cod ๐ŸŸ: Delicious and perfectly seared โ€” one of the highlights of the night! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ”ฅ Entrรฉes: Pork Shoulder ๐Ÿ–: Tender and just the right level of sweetness. Thai Seafood Laksa ๐Ÿœ: Rich and creamy coconut broth โ€” I mixed the rice right in and finished every drop! ๐Ÿฅฅ๐Ÿ‘Œ Desserts: Pavlova ๐Ÿฐ: Topped with turmeric-infused cream that tasted oddly like gingerโ€ฆ not for me. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Candied Hibiscus & Coconut Sorbet ๐ŸŒบ: Refreshing and delicious! Turkish Coffee Opera Cake โ˜•: Good but not particularly memorable. Final thoughts: My wallet is feeling the Restaurant Week drain ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’”. Probably stopping after two more spots! #GlobalEatsSquad #ChicagoRestaurantWeek #ProxiChicago #FusionCuisine #HitOrMiss
