Chicago Restaurant Week 2026 – Round 1|Coquette French Bistro 🇫🇷

Off to a rough start… Today Chicago faced extreme cold, and we were shivering even inside—the restaurant’s heating was seriously lacking. We came attracted by the menu (last photo), but the experience was… disappointing.👌👍 Two of us ordered both options from each course (except vegan).❤️😊 First Course: Foie gras parfait was okay but nothing special. The fish with mayo was overly salty—might have been better with some bread. Second Course: Aged salmon was salty, fatty, and cut too thick. Citrus notes were barely there—ate one slice and felt overwhelmed. Could’ve used a tangy sauce or bread to balance. The wine‑braised lardon was just average. Third Course: Another wine‑braised dish, but this one tasted underseasoned with a strong wine flavor. The seafood pot was mediocre in both ingredients and taste. Honestly, I think I could’ve made both better at home 🤪. Fourth Course: Chocolate crème brûlée was the MVP of the night—66% dark chocolate, not too sweet. The fruit tarte was a bit sweet but had nice texture.🙌😍 Seems like trying a new, less‑popular restaurant is risky… Near closing, they invited the last few tables for free drinks behind the bar—not sure if it’s a Restaurant Week thing or daily. We skipped because it was late, but in warmer weather with friends who enjoy drinks, the vibe could be fun. #Chicago #ChicagoEats #RestaurantWeek #ChicagoRestaurantWeek #FrenchCuisine
