Chicago Restaurant Week Late Post
Even though it's over, I'm jotting this down for next year's me (and for you all)! I wrote about Mano a Mano when it first opened — solid fundamentals, but the squid ink pasta was a miss (and actually got removed from the menu later). This time, we stopped by because it’s super close to home. ☕️ Latte (ordered separately) — zero sugar, just how I like it. 🍓 Raspberry cream bun — the raspberry jam inside was perfectly tangy, cutting through the sweetness of the cream. 🥖 Bread basket — freshly baked, still warm when served. 🥞 Giant pancake + mini pistachio croissant — part of the $30 RW menu. Hard to tell from the pic, but that pancake was bigger than my head 😂. Soaked in maple syrup but still fluffy inside. Meant to be shared, but two of us barely finished it. 🍑 Peach bellini — also included. Not sure why it came in a red wine glass instead of a champagne flute, but no complaints here 😆. 🥔 Breakfast potatoes — sprinkled with cheese, but the garlic flavor came through stronger. 🥪 Breakfast sandwich — by this point I was already stuffed, but WOW. Organic eggs = noticeably richer flavor. Cheese creamy, ham layered with pistachio — so many layers but perfectly balanced. Smaller than their regular brunch version, but still generous. Ended up taking half home. Verdict: Two people sharing one RW was more than enough. Not sure if next year's deal will be this good — but this year? Absolutely solid. 📍 Mano a Mano 2534 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647 #SummerLovesEating #ChicagoLife #Chicago #ChicagoFoodie #ChicagoEats #GlobalFoodCritic
