Chicago Restaurant Week Recommendation

🥗I really, really love this place and rarely recommend it to others! 🥗The restaurant is called Kie-gol-lanee. The original location is in Argyle/Uptown, and it has been listed in the Michelin Guide for several years in a row. They opened a new branch in Logan Square last year. 🥗First up are the tamales. Typically wrapped in corn husks, Oaxacan tamales are often wrapped in banana leaves, giving them a unique flavor compared to the more common versions. The guacamole is amazing! It's one of the best I've ever had in a Mexican restaurant. The avocados are super fresh and not too salty—seriously, not salty at all! Highly recommended! 🥗To be honest, I would recommend this place to friends who genuinely love and appreciate Mexican flavors. If you go, you absolutely must try their homemade mole. Mole originated in Oaxaca, and since this restaurant specializes in Oaxacan cuisine, their mole is a must-try. 🥗In addition, I highly recommend visiting their Logan Square location for brunch. Be sure to order their Mexican hot chocolate—it's spicy, fragrant, and very warming. It's the one thing I crave the most in winter.
