Chicago Ribs|Week 2 of April
It's been a super, super busy week, but like squeezing water from a sponge, I made sure to carve out time every day for running and workouts. This week’s total: 52.2km run ✅ Today, before heading to the airport, I ran 7.2km in a light drizzle 🏃♀️🌧️. After waiting at the airport for hours, my already-delayed flight was canceled due to weather in Miami — rebooked for tomorrow instead. Back in downtown Chicago from the airport, I found this spot with a 4.6-star rating: 「Green Street Smoked Meats」 Ordered their weekend-only beef short rib — as long as two-thirds of my arm 🤯. Seriously… my best reward for this hectic week. The beef brisket was also incredibly tender and soft — smoky but not overpowering, absolutely delicious. After finishing one serving of baked beans, I got another 😋. Simmered with tomatoes, onions, and bits of pork — spooning those saucy beans and meat together was AMAZING. The interior has a rustic factory vibe, with outdoor seating against old-school walls and string lights — totally my style. This meal was probably around 2000 cal (roughly) — I didn’t count carefully, because it was definitely time for a cheat meal without worrying about those damn calories. Time to treat myself 🎉 (and comfort my flight-canceled soul 😢). No matter how busy you are, make time to move 🏋🏼♀️. No matter how strict your diet, schedule a hearty cheat meal regularly 🍕💪. #ChicagoRibs #GreenStreetSmokedMeats #BBQLover #LongRunLongFeast #CheatDay
