Chicago Steakhouse | Finally Tried Asador Bastian 🄩

Wanted to go since they opened two years ago, and recently found out they’re now #1 steakhouse in North America! As steak lovers, we had to try. Snagged a last-minute Sunday 5 PM spot through OpenTable’s notify feature. Starters: Pintxos were just okay, caviar churros were disappointing, but the lobster was good. Main Highlights: šŸ¦€ Crab Rice – Absolutely incredible!! Served with tiger shrimp—so delicious it almost moved me to tears (and I was too excited to even take a photo šŸ˜…). 🄩 Steak – We ordered the Japanese Wagyu (~$100+ per pound). Very buttery and tasty, but not mind-blowing. Felt similar to other top steakhouses, and since we often cook dry-aged ribeye at home, it’s rare for a restaurant steak to truly wow us. šŸ° Dessert – Pistachio puff pastry was delicious—way better than Bavette’s (their desserts are scarily bad, honestly). šŸ’ Service – Exceptionally attentive! Our server remembered both our names (and we have uncommon names), gave detailed introductions, and addressed us by name throughout. Ended up giving 22% tip, even though it hurt a bit šŸ’ø. Overall, we’d return! Compared to traditional steakhouses, the menu is more varied and the seafood is standout. It’s definitely on the pricier side—no alcohol, just enough food for two, and it came to $600. More of a fine-dining/date-night vibe than a pure meat feast. If you just want amazing grilled meat, El Che might be a better bet—similar style but more focused on fire and flavor. #ChicagoSteakhouse #AsadorBastian #FineDining #SteakLovers #ChicagoEats #FoodieReview
