Every time I crave Japanese food in Chicago, Itoko is my first choice — even though it's a bit far from downtown, nothing stops me from loving it 🫶🏻 This time, I went with a friend to celebrate the end of her midterms and decided to write a real review ✍🏻 🔹 TAKO KATO My favorite appetizer to pair with drinks 🌟 The octopus is super chewy, and with shiso leaf and ponzu sauce, it’s next-level tasty! 🔹 HAND ROLLS SET MOMO JR.: Tuna + spicy octopus + pickled veggies — layered and flavorful ✅ SHIO KOJI SALMON: Salmon + avocado mousse — a bit too rich for my taste ❌ XO SCALLOP: Scallop with XO sauce — umami bomb, so fragrant 🌟! 🔹 "TCD" TUNA TORO Many people rave about this, but personally, I wasn’t blown away. 🔹 CHEF SELECTION OF SASHIMI A lifesaver for the indecisive ☀️ Every slice is fresh, fatty, and delicious! 🍮 Dessert Picks: Donatsu 🍵: Chocolate-filled donut with matcha semifreddo — one bite and you'll levitate 😇 Soymilk Panna Cotta: With yuzu cream sauce at the bottom — if you don’t care about eating gracefully, dig all the way down with a spoon.
