Chicago Thai Food|Durian + Duck Lychee Curry
Went to this buzzy Thai spot after a weekend game. It’s a small, family-style restaurant 👪 No line when we arrived, but they took 40 minutes just to clean a table — so slow I almost jumped in to help 😅 Anyway, here are the standout dishes: Starters 🥗 🌶️ Sun-Dried Beef Slightly salty beef jerky — reminded me of Chinese snack streets! Served with sweet-sour dipping sauce for a Thai twist 🇹🇭 🐟 Fried Fish Balls Tasted just like the fish balls from school gates back home — old-school, savory, and nostalgic. Mains 🍛 🦆 Duck Red Curry LOVED THIS ❤️ Crispy duck with lychees in red curry — sweet, salty, and not heavy at all. The curry sauce is perfect over rice — carb heaven! 🍈 Durian Massaman Curry The star here is the durian — not something you see often in US Thai spots. Surprisingly delicious! The durian was soft, sweet, and creamy (not frozen or hard). A unique curry experience. Dessert 🍧 🥭 Mango Sticky Rice A classic Thai finish — as long as the mango isn’t sour, it’s always good 😂 (Skip the coconut pudding — sweet ice cream + salty peanuts didn’t work for me.) 📍 2062 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60647 🍴 Eat Fine Design By Khun Kung #HiddenGem #RestaurantRecommendation #ThaiFood #ChicagoEats #DurianLover
